We are grateful for photographer, Ryan Pennesi’s generous donation of landscape photos throughout the website.

The North Shore of Lake Superior is an incredible and unique place that I call home. It is a landscape that is simultaneously resilient and fragile. Climate change has already begun to affect our coastal north woods. The North Shore Forest Collaborative is taking action to address that by maintaining native species and increasing biodiversity. The collaborative works across land ownerships at a wide scale, involving many different agencies, organizations, and individuals. To me, this effort is a resounding example of land stewardship and conservation in the modern world.
